Khan Academy: Calculus 1 App Reviews

Phenomenal for anyone who has the drive to succeed in anything math-related...all the Khan Academy apps are awesome, Thanks Every application that Ive downloaded from Khan Academy has been stellar. I am currently taking a University level calc. class (having never taken calc. and also 8 years removed from any math) and am doing very well, with a lot of help from this series. I was having trouble calculating things needing the quadratic formula, so I downloaded the algebra app and was back on track after watching one video. These apps are free...require no internet access once downloaded...and this man is a phenomenal teacher (emphasis on teacher) Thanks KA!!!!!

Khan has taken me from a struggling B in Algebra to an easy A in Calculus!

I took a college level calculus class and these videos were invaluable. They helped so much and I would not have received a B without it!

Overall very effective learning. One error found in video 5

It was lunch time and 40 minutes until my test on rate of changes. I did not know anything at all and failed all homework assignments and cheated on them. I took out my phone watched some videos and got a B on the test and could have gotten a B+ but did some foolish mistakes. I dont recomond using this as a last resort however, but AS A FIRST! If you dont understand anything just watch his clips and you will get something out of it, no dought about it!

This app is definitely going to help me with my Calculus class. I have only watched a couple of videos but I already have a better understanding of the concepts than when my teacher taught me.

Can anyone tell me if this app has derivatives of trigonometric functions? I couldnt find it. Thanks!

Does this app work on iOS 5 for anyone else? Mine just keeps crashing.

It has semi-explained some topics for me, and is overall not bad. There is a math error in video 15-derivatives 2. If you are going to try and teach calculus, make sure you can simplify fractions before making a video about it.

Although a few errors this is amazing as a review and as a way to reinforce topics

Some minor errors but overall the guys a great teacher. If someones having issues then they probably just dont have the prerequisite knowledge required for the course, because he truly does make an effort to not let the audience fall behind. In fact it becomes redundant at times because of this, but nevertheless is very effective and comprehensive.

Great app. Saved me a bunch of times

I am in seventh grade and am bored in both of my math classes( algebra 1& geometry)but learning calc has been a blast I have also watched the linear algebra and trigonometry videos they are so much easier know that I have a teach thanks sal You should make some abtract algebra videos

Really good way to learn

This app company is amazing! Im not even joking! Did you see how many subjects they cover!?!? Chemistry 7?!?! Physics?! Differential equations?!?! And its all free!! Its great to be in the classroom, but when English wasnt your professors first language, it makes it a little more difficult to learn. This app is great for tidying up those loose ends, or just starting out fresh! Im not even in calc 1 and I know and fully understand what limits are because of this app! Im getting EVERY SINGLE lesson they offer for every one of my future classes! What a great study tool especially when there is something you just dont quite understand! Im so so happy that they made pretty much a study partner app!

The app is great for me to review for calculus but sometimes there are silly errors as shown in....I think video 5 I believe

This app is great. Its easy to look past small errors when a free app teaches me calculus better than a professor I pay $500 a class for!

This might be the best way in the app store to learn calculus so far, its even better than any other itunesU video that i found

He is a great teacher, even better than the one I have in college. I will give this app 5 stars if they app a way to pick up videos where you left off when you have left the app. He makes some mathematical mistakes so he gets the wrong answer. Not everyone is perfect but should be fixed as soon as possible. Mathematical Mistakes In limit examples 4; he adds instead of multiples

In video five there is a couple mistakes for example limit z to 2, its 6/32 not 6/12 so limit z to 2 is equal to 3/16.
